Protect the Life You’ve Built with Flood Insurance

Hurricanes are one of nature’s most powerful and destructive events.  Last year, Hawai'i was hit hard by flooding even before the 2018 hurricane season officially started. The islands of Kauaʻi and Oʻahu suffered severe damage from devastating floods during the month of April (2018). Then later in the year Hurricane Lane (August 2018) and Tropical Storm Olivia (September 2018) caused more devastation that resulted in Federal declarations for both events. 2018 was the fourth-most active season on record with 23 named storms.

Whether your home floods due to a violent hurricane or just a heavy rain, flood insurance helps cover the cost of repairing your home and replacing your belongings. In fact, just one inch of flood water in an average-sized home can cause more than $25,000 in damage.

Call your insurance company or agent and purchase flood insurance today, so you’ll have the peace of mind that comes with knowing your largest financial asset is protected. Act now —policies typically take up to 30 days to go into effect, and most homeowners insurance does not cover flood damage.
