About Kelsey:
Kelsey Yamanaka, Hawai’i Emergency Management Agency Acting State Hazard Mitigation Officer. Kelsey has been with HI-EMA’s hazard mitigation team for over four years and has experience in planning and federal grant implementation and management. In her current role, she’s leading HI-EMA’s hazard mitigation program to build a more resilient Hawai’i through partnerships and mitigation investments.

Hazard Mitigation Grants
In this presentation, we will review FEMA’s Hazard Mitigation Grants, including the annually funded Building Resilient Infrastructure and Communities (BRIC) and Flood Mitigation Assistance (FMA) Grants, and the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP) which is tied to a specific disaster Declaration. We will also have a brief discussion of other federal (e.g. HUD’s CDBG, NOAA, USGS and EPA) hazard mitigation grants.
