About Kaʻāina:
Kaʻāina Hull is Planning Director for the County of Kaua‘i. He previously served as the Planning Deputy Director for 3 years, and he worked as a Planner within the Department’s Regulatory Division. A graduate of Kamehameha Schools and UC Berkeley; in his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family on their citrus tree and sheep farm on South Kauaʻi.

An overview of the County of Kaua‘i’s Shoreline Setback Ordinance, which is considered to be one of the most progressive coastal setbacks in the nation. And a presentation on the County of Kaua‘i’s recently adopted Sea Level Rise Ordinance that requires new structures to be elevated to accommodate future projections for sea level rise induced hazards.
