Welcoming FEMA’s Emergency Management Specialist, Corin Seguljic to Hawai’i Floodplain Management Ohana

Corin Seguljic is a Floodplain Management & Insurance team member at FEMA Region IX in Oakland, California. As an Emergency Management Specialist (Mitigation), she works to support communities participating in the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) to reduce flood risk and build resilience to flooding. Her territory currently includes Hawai’i, American Samoa, and portions of Northern California.

Prior to joining FEMA, Corin served as a Program Analyst, Multifamily Housing at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. She’s served as a Program Manager for volunteer financial empowerment and emergency food assistance programs. She also served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in East Java, Indonesia. Corin earned her master’s in Sustainable International Development from Brandeis University and her bachelor’s in Economics from Hamilton College.

Outside of work, Corin enjoys reading, running, hiking, and playing with her dog.

A: Lord of the Rings

Q: How would you change your life today if the average life expectancy was 400 years?

A: I’d drink my morning coffee more slowly and I’d probably wear a lot more sunscreen.

Q: What sport would you compete in if you were in the Olympics?

A: Maybe archery. It has a certain coolness factor.
