Tyler Ciccone joins the Flood Control/Dam Safety Ohana with the responsibility of administering the State General Flood Control Plan (SGFCP).

The goal of the SGFCP Coordinator is to assist the State in decision-making regarding flood hazards and prioritize areas to best focus limited resources.  The SGFCP is currently being updated and will utilize digital database and website technologies to provide educational information and public awareness tools on flood risks, flood histories and other related information.

Additionally, he will assist the State National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) Coordinator in providing NFIP support to the counties and other stakeholders.

Tyler transferred out from his previous role with the City at the Department of Planning and Permitting (DPP) where he was a Plans Examining Engineer that reviewed commercial plans for building code compliance.

Before joining DPP, he worked as a General Engineer for Code 246 (Non-Nuclear Testing and Work Controls) at Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard.

Tyler earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Hawai'i at Manoa. Outside of work, he enjoys diving for tako & lobster when in season and making lilikoi ice cream.
